Bainbridge alcohol advertising in sport is often not recognised in law and has become a marketing tool rather than a legal industry.
The Government must stop this as it has never done in its long history and needs to create a fair regulatory framework that is transparent and fair for sport. The current Alcoholics Anonymous and BAA-led model for alcohol advertising needs to be abolished completely. We need to replace it with an Alcoholics Anonymous model where our industry is recognised and we have a voice in legislation."

Wa election flux microparty running fake independent candidates," The Washington Post, July 29, 2015:
A group of Democrats is trying to capitalize on the chaotic Republican presidential race and the Trump presidency to set themselves up as alternative political parties in the 2020 midterm elections, according to a new survey. A survey released Thursday by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report and the Washington Post shows the group will field at least 10 candidate campaigns in some 20 House races in 2018 and at least 30 for state legislature races.
The Cook Political Report is run by the Chicago Tribune. The Washington Post, July 29, 2015:
The Cook Political Report and other polls predict a Democratic wave in next year's midterm elections that could send a wave of Republican-controlled state legislatures to Trump-friendly governorships. Republicans control 27 governorships in the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

And that's the main reason why Democrats are going to be in this election cycle to begin with. Republicans, especially Trump, have a unique opportunity to try to destroy Democratic incumbents on the ground, and Democrats are on their side, regardless of how many of these candidates are actually running.
This is not an election about the presidentTrump may be able to be a spoiler, or his tweets could hurt the Dems and the election could end in a near tie, but at the end of the day, we should see something interesting on Nov. 8: someone who is not in office and not running. And with Republicans so far in control of both chambers and the presidencywith the exception of John Boehner, if I'm being entirely honestwe should see something interesting on November 8, whether Trump is president or not. |
