Old jacarandas fate in balance." A few days after the death of the Buddha, he went to the home of the monk Sakha and gave the following advice, telling him to return to the monastery with his four robes: "I am the Buddha; therefore it is necessary that I return with my four robes and not wear any robe; with them I shall meditate on the causes of all suffering." Thus he advised Sakha.
In that lifetime he had become the disciple of King Ananda of Nagasaki. He said, "No doubt that Ananda could have lived a long, prosperous life, but this lifetime he has gone to the world to die.
